Cameron led Conservative Party claims majority in UK elections; Miliband resigns

May 08, 2015 (LBO) – British Prime Minister David Cameron led Conservative Party has won a solid victory in the British general election on Thursday, foreign media reported.
According to the results declared, the Conservatives had won 331 seats and Labour 232 seats.

Among others Scottish National Party got 56 seats and Liberal Democrats at 8.

326 seats were required for a majority in the 650 member House of Commons in the British parliament.

Opposition leader Ed Miliband has quit as Labour leader after Nigel Farage and Nick Clegg also resigned following the Conservative win, media reports said.

Cameron, who got elected by the people for a second term, has left to Buckingham Palace to be invited by the queen to form a new government.
